About CAMTECH 

It was decided by Railway Board in 1987 to set up an institute to undertake studies and evolve strategies for maintenance of all types of assets. Accordingly CAMTECH started functioning from 1991 onwards at Gwalior under the administrative control of Director General, RDSO, Lucknow with a main objective of Upgrade maintenance Technologies & Methodologies and achieve improvement in productivity and performance of all Railway assets and Manpower. This covers reliability, availability, utilization and efficiency. 

CAMTECH is headed by Executive Director who is assisted by four Directors - one each of Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and S&T, apart from Staff.
